Forget about the Premier League title - Manchester City wrapped that all up now. But there are three very exciting competitions still running which will all come to an end in May. We have the FA Cup in England, the Europa League and Champions League finals between European clubs. So, all three finals are worth a punt, but the questions is - on whom?
Let’s start by taking a look at the FA Cup. Arsenal are going to the FA Cup final knowing that this is the only piece of silverware that they can win this year. Arsene Wenger and his Gunners have a long, sad reputation of failing to pull the trigger in cup finals, and they haven’t exactly won any trophies for almost a decade. On the other hand, Hull City have had to wait a great deal longer for major silverware. You know, if you don’t count them winning lower division titles. Hull City will of course be treated as immense underdogs. Bet365 currently has Arsenal as 1.44 favourites, but of course. The probability of the Tigers doing a number on them at Wembley is a very unlikely 7.00, but that still might be enough to inspire you? Our personal favourite bet though, is the 4.33 that you can win if the two sides come to a draw after 90 minutes. Of course, whatever happens after 90 minutes is irrelevant, so the question is - can Hull City hold back Arsenal for 90 minutes. We’d like to think so! Either way, we’ll find out on Saturday May 17.
Europe’s second tier competition - The Europa League - also has an upcoming final. This final will be held on Wednesday May 14. Benfica SL are due to meet Sevilla CF in what promises to be a really tight final. Sevilla may not have been having the time of their lives in La Liga, but the Spanish side hasn’t been doing too badly, occupying fifth place. Benfica on the other hand are already Portuguese champions, having been far better than second-placed Sporting Club in the PrimeiraLiga this season. The more rested Benfica side should do it on the day, and are 2.40 favourites to win the Europa League. Sevilla are only just behind though, at 3.20 to win with Bet365, though.
And then of course, there is the UEFA Champions League final. This is not only an all-Spanish final, but also an all-Madrid final as Real take on Atletico. Real Madrid CF have to be the red-hot favourites, and at 2.10 to win, are Bet365’s choice. A draw after 90 minutes is only valued at 3.50, and Atletico at 3.40. However, Real Madrid might be pumped up for it, but let’s not forget that this season, Atletico Madrid has been sweeping everybody aside. This is not a home game for Real, so to be honest - they could easy be surprised. Pushed back until Saturday May 24, this final will be the final test for club players before the World Cup begins. Expect a right showdown between these two fierce rivals.
If you are wondering, our money is actually on Atletico at 3.40, pulling off the surprise of the season. And with that, the domestic and European football calendar will come to an abrupt end, and the World Cup will begin. Bet365 will be following it all the way, and we can’t wait to start wagering, too!
