English Premier League Preview, March 29 - 31
Published: March 27, 2014The title race heats up with this weekend's fixtures
Regardless of the mid-week fixtures, the Premier League is in for a real treat this weekend, as there are two massive clashes, which could determine who is still in with a title shot, and who isn't. Let's get straight at it. Kicking off this weekend's big games is Arsenal versus Manchester City.
Arsenal vs Man City
Arsenal are all but out of the title race, but a victory of title chasing Manchester City could reignite their challenge, but just a handful of games to go. At the very least it would all but consolidate their Champions League berth for next season. City on the other hand, have a game in hand against Chelsea, so it would be terrible for them to lose an opportunity to close the gap here. Arsenal haven't had the best run of form, and their 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Chelsea will still stick in their minds. They'll have to put it out of their minds if they wish to beat City. Everygame mildly swings in City's favour, at 2.30 for the away win. Arsenal though, aren't far behind to cause an upset at 2.90. You'd even fancy the teams having a share of the spoils, and this would pay a healthy 3.50 from the sports betting giants.
Liverpool vs Tottenham
Liverpool are also very much in the hunt for the title, and Manchester United fans will be torn as the Reds take on Tottenham. A Liverpool victory would leave Tottenham dangerously close to being caught by United, although a Spurs win would push them out of United's reach for now. Liverpool are hoping for a win to boost their title credentials and at 1.50 to win, given the form they've got, you'd expect them to get it. Spurs are hoping to keep United at bay to seal their own Europa League spot, but they are outsiders at 6.00 to beat Liverpool at Anfield. A draw is worth a fair 4.33.
Swansea vs Norwich
Other decent pay-outs this weekend which could happen involve Norwich and Cardiff. Everygame is looking at 4.50 for an away for Norwich over Swansea. This result could happen, and the Canaries could easily beat an out-of-form Swans side. West Brom are in atrocious form, so a relegation threatened Cardiff City could nick the win at the Hawthorns. For 4.75 for the away win, you really would fancy your chances!
Southampton vs Newcastle
Elsewhere in the Barclays Premier League, Newcastle are outsiders to beat Southampton at 4.50, although you wouldn't bet against them with those odds. Hull City are also fanciful at 3.30 to beat Stoke City away. In all honesty though, Stoke are likely to win this tie, and odds of 2.20 for them to do so isn't bad going.
Sunderland vs West Ham
The week's games are capped off on Monday night, when Sunderland host West Ham. Both teams could end up in relegation battle, so they'll be going all out to win this one at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland are narrow favourites at 2.37, but our money is on The Hammers, at 3.00 to get the job down.
Betting Plan
Everygame's odds are particularly special this week, and a series of away wins could see players pulling off a coup with big wins. Here's to hoping!
